Vintage motorcycle “Zündapp KS”Brand: Zündappmodel: KScountry: Germanyyear: 1942condition: restoreddisplacement: 750 cc.engine: twin-cylinder boxergearbox: 4-speed and reverse, shaft drive, two rear-wheel drive, with differential distributor and lockableFounded in 1917 by Friederich Krupp AG and Eng. Fritz Neumeyer as a machine tool factory (Zunder und Apparatebau GmbH), Zündapp was soon converted to the sole production of motorcycles. From 1940 onwards, production focused on military motorcycles for the Wehrmacht. Of this production, the sidecar pictured here is the most produced model with 18,000 units built. The (rigid) frame was designed by Ferdinand Porsche. Wheels and brakes are BMW production. Even the sidecar, supplied by external companies, is the same as the BMW one for unification purposes required by the army.
