Vintage motorcycle “Scott Super Squirrel”Brand: Scottmodel: Super Squirrelcountry: United Kingdom - Shipleyyear: 1926 (?)condition: restoreddisplacement: 596engine: two-stroke twin-cylinder water-cooledgearbox: two-speedFounded in Shipley, Yorkshire, by Alfred Angus Scott, creator of more than fifty patents, the Scott factory produced motorcycles from 1909 to 1933. Several particularly innovative solutions were adopted in series production. The Scott was the first motorcycle to adopt water cooling. Some construction choices such as the open triangle frame, allowing the vehicle to be used by a female public, seemed to indicate the desire to address a “relaxed” user base. Despite this, the Scott soon proved to be a fast and efficient motorcycle, collecting numerous sporting successes. It reached 105 km/h. It won the Tourist Trophy in 1912 and 1913.
