  Padua, University, Palazzo Bo: the Atrium of Heroes ( dedicated to students fallen in the wars from 1848 to 1866, and  fallen during the Italian Resistance Movement). There is a  statue (1946-1947) by Arturo Martini representing Palinuro, the helmsman of Aeneas, who died in view of Italy.The design of the stair and the decoration of the walls are by Gio Ponti. The frescoes "The humanity and culture" (1941) depict  the birth and development of humanity, culture and sciences.

Padua, Palazzo della Ragione : the "Salone" (about 80 meters long and 27 meters wide)  is covered by a wooden structure almost 40 meters high. The wooden horse was donated to the City by the family Capodilista  in 1837. The horse had been made for a tournament in 1466. The frescoes were painted by John Miretto and by an unknown artist from Ferrara in the first half of the fifteenth century . The themes are the Zodiac, the trades of the year. There are also frescoes about religious themes.

In the apsidal basin: "God among angels and apostles",  the basin of the apse takes light from an opening hidden behind one of the figures It is an  extraordinary scenographic effect,which is typical of the Baroque. In the vault, "Apostles in adoration of the Eucharist and Trinity". Frescoes by Sebastiano Ricci.
