Piacenza

The historic centre of the city is characterized by the Duomo and Piazza dei Cavalli with the equestrian monuments to the Farnese family and the Palazzo Comunale. In the heart of Piacenza, the Hall of Teatini in the former Church of San Vincenzo, the Basilica of San Savino, Palazzo Farnese with several museums. Among the most important finds, the bronze liver model with Etruscan inscriptions and a tondo by Botticelli. The Ricci Oddi Gallery preserves masterpieces by 20th century masters as Gaetano Previati, Giacomo Grosso, Giuseppe Polizza da Volpedo. The valley of the Trebbia river embeds Bobbio, famous for the Malaspina Castle, the Old Bridge Vecchio and the Abbey of San Colombano.
