In 1891 he began to make a fortune by marketing pneumatic tires in France under the Dunlop license. In 1896 he joined Gladiator and began building tricycles with the De Dion-Bouton engine. In 1902 a Clément twin cylinder wins the first uphill race on Mont Ventoux. In 1904 it dissolved this company and formed Clément-Bayard, with which it would also produce cars exported to England under the Clément-Talbot brand. The motorcycle presented in these pages, and marketed in France by Clément, was actually produced in Geneva by Motosacoche, with very few variations compared to the original model in the catalog.
