Sassuolo, Este Ducal Palace, the Bacchus Gallery: "The March to Egypt”. The faux tapestry  which represents a landscape dominated by a rock, is lifted on the left by a putto and a monkey. In the foreground Bacchus with some figures observes the long procession of his retinue which climbs up a road. It is one of the forty-one panels with scenes painted by Jean Boulanger which narrate the events of Bacchus. Wall tempera painting, 1650 - 52.
